Merry CHRISTmas!

This season has been full of craziness and some heartache.
Now the flu and ice and snow.
The one thing that must be remembered
Is that Jesus loves us so!

He gave up the riches of heaven
To come as a humble baby born.
All the hope of God's salvation
Came to earth that blessed Christmas morn!

That baby didn't stay one though
He grew and became a man
That died and rose again for us,
The ultimate redemption plan!

Salvation is God's free gift,
For those that will receive it.
To accept what Christ has done for you
You just need to believe it!

My Christmas prayer for you this day,
Is the true peace that only comes,
When you accept the gift God has for you.
Salvation through His Son!

From My family to yours!!! Have a very very merry and blessed Christmas!--Betsy

A mantle, a dog and a sister in law

So I am in charge of the Christmas program. We needed a fire place for the program. One of the gals from church has one for us. BUT she was leaving to go out of town. I got a call this afternoon. Betsy I just remembered you needed the fireplace, we are leaving to go out of town in 1/2 hour (I live about 15 minutes away) So I get ready, bundle up and head over there. PIck up the mantel and head to church. I get to church, unlock the door, turn on the lights, move the mantel in. Check the placement and then get a phone call. The dog had nosed her way out the back door and was roaming the neighborhood. I go run mantel back into the children's church room, hurriedly get the lights out, call my SIL (who was home) to see if she could pick up a kid and start the neighborhood search (If we don't get the dog fast she goes FAR) and then head home.

Thankfully the dog was found by the time I got home!...sigh

Psalm 15

The Lord has been challenging me the past couple of days with Psalm 15

Psalm 15 (New International Version)
A psalm of David.

1 LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary?
Who may live on your holy hill?
2 He whose walk is blameless
and who does what is righteous,
who speaks the truth from his heart

3 and has no slander on his tongue,
who does his neighbor no wrong
and casts no slur on his fellowman,

4 who despises a vile man
but honors those who fear the LORD,
who keeps his oath
even when it hurts,

5 who lends his money without usury
and does not accept a bribe against the innocent.
He who does these things
will never be shaken

Think of those things that help us dwell in the sanctuary of the Lord, blameless walk, doing what is righteous, speaking the truth (from the heart), not slandering or slurring your fellowman, despising the vile, honoring those that fear the Lord, keeping an oath (even when it hurts) ....and so on.. that list can seem so overwhelming! Makes me thankful I have Jesus to help me do it!

OH you better watch out!

You better not cry! You better not pout I'm telling you why....Santa Clause was driving to town!!!!!! Yup, my oldest son and I were driving home from a HUGE trip to Fred Ex (to ship $145 worth of packages to various fiskateers throughout the United States (the joys of being a personal shopper for your fiskateer friends *grin*) When I looked at the car at the stop sign. The guy had a HUGE white curly beard. And was wearing a red hat and red coat. YUP it was the Jolly Old Man himself Santa Claus!!! It gave me a good chuckle and then I proceeded to call my friend so she could tell her kids that "Miss Betsy saw Santa driving to town, I bet he's checking up on all of the boys and girls on his naughty and nice list...."

Dawn, Nancy, Debby, Michelle, Lacey, and two secret sisters have definitely been on the "nice list" and are going to feel like Santa came to town when they open their goodies from the Fiskaland sale let me know when you get your goodies ladies!!!

Of winners and dogs and cards and things

So today was another eventful day at our place! It started off early with me boxing up some goodies from the sale for some friends, having my youngest daughter wake up not feeling well, then involved me crating up two uncooperative cats for vet appointments. Then had me dropping off goodies for friends, finishing up school with the kids and then doing more packaging up of boxes. I also decided that I should make Christmas Cards. So my daughter and I cranked out 40 while watching Enchanted for the umteenth time. They had really cute Heidi Grace Christmas Card blanks at the sale and then vellum Christmas quote stickers top off with a cute squeeze punch cut out and some ribbon and I had some handmade cards in a flash.

Right at the end of the card making session we found that the dog had an accident (probably cause of the medicine she has been on) This was discovered AFTER she proceeded to walk through it....so quick clean up of the Christmas cards, then shampoo the dog and I get to stay up shampooing the carpet. Just another day in our lives....My grandfather says that these are the best years of my life, I know someday I'll look back on them and agree it's hard to see when you are in the thick of things...LOL

As far as who guessed closest!!! it was Nancy she was about $70 under. It might seem like a LOT but considering all that I got it was a HUGE bargain....I have class materials for at least 12 classes (that will be embellished to the hilt) as well as fun stuff to play with and demo for a long time! Nancy, email me (or PM me through Fiskateers) your address and I'll send some goodies out.

Well the kids just came in to tell me the wet dog decided that she didn't need to get HER bed wet she decided to climb up on MY bed (where she is not allowed) and get my bed all wet....I'm so glad she loves me

WOWZERS!!! Fiskars Warehouse sale

So a buddy of mine from FISKATEERS invited me to come stay with her so we could go to the warehouse sale together (that's her with a paint can I decorated for her, the kids and I made Christmas Cookies for her and her sweet hubby Kevin (thanks K for putting up with two crazy shoppers *grin* and letting Louise invite me over to play) She was such a fabulous hostess and we even got to play for awhile in her scrap room!

Granted morning came early and boy was it COLD!!!! But soon we found ourselves in FISKALAND!!! A magical place of fabulous deals on all types of fiskars products. There were punches, and papers, and embellishments and tools and whatnots and thing a ma jigs galore...and hundreds of crazy shoppers!!!

After filling our carts we went to check out! The staff was so helpful and friendly!!!! (Beth was a bit scared of my pile) But she had helpers!!! and Hong (He's in the middle) helped me even load my van!!! Beth was standing next to me!

It took awhile to load we didn't get out of there till 2-2:30

But soon we were on our way home!!!! Unloading was a feat! there was absolutely NO ROOM to even walk (there were stacks everywhere (in the kitchen too!)

So guess how much I spent?????

Of Support teams and SUPPORT TEAMS!

So today was a hard day! I made the difficult decision to not reapply for the Support/Creative Team for MemoryWorks. I have been with them for 5 years and have enjoyed the time I have spent helping consultants and supporting the Home Office staff, but life has been funny lately and with no real time to create fabulous projects for the audition, and with other things happening taking up my time, I decided I wouldn't be reapplying. I was sad for me. I'll miss working with such a talented group of people. BUT I am so happy for the gals that made the team!!! Congrats ladies!!!!!

That being said,I was in a bit of a melancholy mood tonight when I attended the Fiskateer Chat. I was actually excited about the chat. Kathleen Reid author of "A page out of life" was the special guest at the chat. I had received the book at CHA this summer where I met Kathleen during a book signing. Let me tell you... If you haven't read it you really need to. Not only was it a fiction book without the sex, violence and such BUT it was just genuinely a really good read. I enjoyed the characters, and loved watching them grow through the book. I didn't want the story over when I finished!

You can find the book at amazon and at Barnes and Nobel. I highly recommend it!!!

So not only did I get to attend the chat BUT Wendy Jo (the fabulous Fiskateer Lead that hosted the chat) had prizes to hand out. Now I had my book next to me during chat. Right after she announced prizes, I flipped open the back of the book and though "if they do a prize knowing the number of pages I'll be set" well the very first thing they said was "first person to tell me the number of pages in the book" YEAH ME!!!! It was so cool. You know what was even more wonderful than winning, was that everyone was genuinely happy for me that I won a prize ( a very sought after prize too with the fiskateers the "square-a-licious" punch (scalloped square) It was nice to have the the support of my "fiska-sisters"
